Bylaw No. 1339/09 | Animal Control Bylaw
*PLEASE NOTE*
Residents are advised that the Town's new Animal Control Bylaw No. 1339/09 will come into force on July 01, 2010. Key changes that this new Bylaw includes may affect Residents who presently own or harbour more than three domestic pets or are currently maintaining or contemplating establishing a Kennel operation for boarding, breeding or selling of domestic animals. Other provisions that may affect residents are requirements to maintain care and control of animals at all times from trespassing, requirement to remove and dispose of dog excrement deposited on public or private places and ability of Enforcement Officers to declare certain dogs "aggressive in nature" – placing further confinement and control measures upon them.
Fines associated with various violations of our Animal Control Bylaw have also been amended upwards in some instances. A copy of this Bylaw is posted for inspection at the Town Office during normal business hours and is available to view/download by clicking the link above. Copies may be obtained upon request at the office for a nominal charge.
If you are affected by any of the above changes – we strongly recommend that you take measures to ensure compliance with these changes prior to July 01, 2010.
