Tax Assessment
Property tax is determined by two things: the assessed value placed on the land and buildings (assessed by the Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency) and the mill rate determined by Town Council. Assessments are executed every four years and are subject to change by assessment appeal procedure.
Buildings or improvement assessments are determined by the assessor after a physical inspection. The assessor is guided by an assessment manual that sets out a classification of the various types of structures and quality of construction. The assessment manual is based on 2009 replacement values.
