La Palestre: Our Community, Our Ice, Our Future
La Palestre is more than just an arena, it’s the heartbeat of Gravelbourg. Since 1981, it has hosted hockey, curling, skating, tournaments and countless community events, bringing families and friends together through the years.
But our ice plant is aging. Running on R-22 refrigerant, which will be phased out by 2030, maintenance is becoming increasingly difficult and costly. Without upgrades, the future of our rink could be at risk.
That’s why we’re launching a public campaign to share our plans for upgrading La Palestre’s Plant refrigeration system. A project that will make the rink safer, more energy efficient, and sustainable for generations to come.

La Palestre Rink Is Heating Up!
The ice is buzzing with action! Hockey teams and the Skating Club are hitting the ice, public skates and shinny sessions are already rolling, and the excitement is building for another amazing season. Curling ice is being installed, and the curling season will start mid-November.
There’s something for everyone this season! Whether you’re lacing up for hockey, skating for fun, sweeping and sliding on the curling rink, or cheering from the stands.

Community Teams Up for Arena Upgrade
Our arena user groups, Senior Hornets, Hornets Minor Hockey, Skating Club and Curling Club, are coming together for a progressive 50/50 fundraiser!
Town of Gravelbourg and the Rural Municipality of Gravelbourg #104 are partnering to guaranteeing a $7,500 payout to the lucky winner! 💰
The application is going in and everyone is excited to join forces to kick-start the Arena Plant Upgrade Fundraising Initiative.
