Bettez St at the Community Forrest

Developed in 2002 by the Town of Gravelbourg and the Southern Saskatchewan Summer Solstice Festival, the labyrinth is open to the general public. Labyrinths have been used in many cultures and religions throughout the world, and their usage dates back as far as 3500 BCE. They have been used to celebrate seasonal and celestial events such as harvest time and the full moon, which are traditionally community affairs in agricultural cultures.

A labyrinth is also a metaphor for life. There is only one entrance, one path, and one goal. The Path for Peace Labyrinth was built to celebrate the essence of our community and to increase awareness for peace.
